We know that amid today's competitiveness, every company's dream is to combine quality, productivity and cost reduction. That is, whoever finds more efficient processes has an advantage. For this, the smartest solution is to invest in process automation. And, for us at Rationiric, nothing better than opting for Robotic Process Automation, also called RPA.
Even so, it is normal for many managers to have their doubts and ask themselves whether RPA will really be useful in their company. In this context,it is important to emphasize that one of the main uses of RPA is the replacement of activities that have a very large repetition cycle. In other words, processes that could only be carried out through human intervention have become automated, increasing business productivity. Therefore, we can say that this technology can be used in any business area.
Customer service platforms are a good example for the use of RPA, in which automation would be responsible for registering updates, verifying orders, opening historic data about customers, etc. In addition, RPA can help with activities such as:
(1) Improving the customer billing process: Activities such as sending an automatic email are easily accomplished through RPA. Automation can be useful for automatingnumerous activities that involve customer relationships, such as the billing department and the sales area.
(2) Automate report generation: Interpretation of these reports is still a human activity, but writing can be simplified. Thus, professionals will not waste time executing the documents, being able to concentrate their efforts on their analysis.
(3) Simplify performing complex calculations: a complex calculations is nothing more than a set of mathematical operations. Then, these operations can be automated, considerably reducing the number of failures in the process. All information obtained will be provided according to the programming passed to the robots, avoiding human errors.
(4) Monitor automated tasks: RPAs can also be employed to monitor tasks that are already automated, verifying their efficiency. Activities such as receiving an order and verifying payment are examples of automated tasks that should be monitored.
(5) Manage the HR talent bank: It is common for companies to have a database with resumes and information about their employees and about candidates who participated on selection processes. Many companies resort to this information when new vacancies arise. However, accessing this data and searching for professionals who fit the respective vacancies is an excessively expensive job. Then, a robot can be used to find professionals whose resume is compatible with the job description.
(6) Stop Fraudulent Accounts: Closing fraudulent accounts is another RPA use worth mentioning. Many companies have account systems where customers register. Registrations can be used to make purchases, access information, transfer data, among other activities. However, such systems are not a safe environment. Every day, the number of viruses, malware and ransomware increases, which can cause big losses. In addition to having an adequate protection system, it can be interesting to guarantee the closure of fraudulent accounts. So, nothing better than using automation to eliminate fraudulent accounts, based on well-established criteria that can be executed by RPA.

It's time to plan your RPA project. Whatever your demand, from integrating your ERP processes (SAP, Oracle or others), automatically reinforcing audit rules, eliminating repetitive tasks or other demands, it's important to plan your RPA project. Shortly, a RPA project consists of:
- Identify the process and map it (BSA work using BPM-like tools)
- Create an automation scope document
- Create the automation script
- Test the automation in a test environment (Dev/QA)
- Deploy RPA in the runtime (production) environment
